Week 11 Победа на Коменское

Hello Everyone!! It feels crazy to me that I am writing another email already this past week seems like it just flew by!

This has been an amazing week I''ve seen many so many miracles and ways the Lord has helped us to find people this week to teach and really it has just been super incredible!! I wanted to write about just a few cool experiences rather than go through the whole week and everything that happened each day!

So on Wednesday we needed to go to the office to get a bunch of things done and we figured it'd be like a quick in and out. Well we were super wrong it seems to always take A LOT longer in there than we anticipate but anyways we got out like an hour later than we were hoping but we got on the bus back to Pobeda and we were super excited about contacting today because we really needed to find some people to teach but we get back to the apartment and we get a call from the office saying we need to go back. So we go back for another 2 hours and we had a couple of more little jobs we needed to do and pass along cards that they want us to print we didn't know about until like just after we left the office. Anyway the point is wednesday we had our English practice and we want to get more and more people there but we didn't have any time to tell anyone about it out on the streets so we basically just were hoping and praying people would show up I guess. We hustled over to English after the office was finished up and it's 5:30 when it starts and no one is there. We were so sad! But like 10 minutes after the hour like 17 people walk in all at once and it was just amazing to see and we ended up having an awesome practice and talked to this guy after for about an hour really interesting conversation he's athiest and had all these theories he was explaining to us but we got his number and we're planning on teaching him so we'll see how that goes! He took a Book of Mormon too!

Friday to Saturday I was on an exchange with Elder Hamzawi and we went to his area in Коменское (Komenskwa) and it was super great there! Way cool to see a different part of Ukraine because I've really only been in Dnipro! On Saturday we went contacting on the Tramvai it's like trax in Utah but like Soviet Union Era so a lot less nice and a lot more sketchy but we love them they're fun. So we split up a little bit more I'm like 5 rows back from Elder Hamzawi and I sit down next to this older guy he's like 50 and I start to study some vocab and I just ask him a question about the difference between these two different words. Then soon enough all the other people around the two of us are in on this conversation and I'm talking two like 5 people at once. Keep in mind this is like the first real two way conversation I've had with anyone where my companion hasn't been right there to have my back. Anyways I ended up having like a 30 minute conversation with this guy and the people all around. Super cool really was a miracle for me that I could do that and understand what they were saying in my limited Russian! The guy I started talking to his name is Vova and he told me all about his life and it was super cool he missed his stop because he wanted to keep talking to me and it was really like the first real friend I had made in Ukraine and as his stop comes around again he gets off and shakes my hand like 3 times and gets off the Tramvai waving and waving super awesome. And like the first time I've seen anyone wave over the age of 3 in Ukraine so it was just awesome!

Last quick experience! We were in church this Sunday and as it's about to start this guy we've never seen before comes walking and and we just quickly tell him to come and sit next to us. After the meeting we are trying to figure out how he made it to church today and what not and still aren't entirely sure other than that it was just a miracle that this happened and we got him a Book of Mormon and he had already read it once told us he prayed and was sure it was true! We taught him the Restoration and he totally understood and got it really loved it. He's so prepared and ready! I just was thinking after like all the prayers I and I know others have offered to just prepare people out in the world for the message of the gospel and help the missionaries come and find them are being answered!!

I just want to bear my testimony on the power of prayer! As we sincerely and truly pray with meaning and truly feeling what we are saying in our hearts I know that the Lord hears and will answer those prayers! And it may not always be in the way or timeliness we expect but I testify that those answers come and as we do what we can and have faith and continue stepping forward on the path!!

Just wanted to end with some Ukrainian Culture- Shaking hands here it's just not the same as America... Like if you've ever shaken someones hand and they like close way to early and you're just holding there fingers that's how everyone here shakes hands still don't understand haha.

Love you all hope everything is going well in your lives!!!
