Week 14 The Shovel Brigade

Another really wonderful week! This week was especially good though! I think it was just a combo of seeing lots of success as well as the Christmas season beginning! Whatever it was it was all just wonderful all rolled up into one really great week!

We were finally able to meet with Davie again after it had been like 4 WEEKS ahhh. But it was really good to see him and understand what has been going on and why he hasn't been able to meet with us very easily. He's the guy from Ivory Coast I wrote about a few weeks ago! He's English isn't super great but he's really such an awesome guy! We took him to the branch and showed him around and he saw the piano and was super excited about that. He told us how about he knew how to play in Ivory Coast so we told him we wanted to hear some and he sits down and starts just playing I don't even know what but it was awesome he was into it just wasn't super super good on the piano. I played for him too and then we sang "Israel Israel God is Calling" him in French and us in Russian and that was super cool! He was super rushed and in a hurry so we didn't Точно (Exactly) get in a lesson but it's hard to know what he does and doesn't understand with his level of English!

We had an awesome service project on the 1st which was the worldwide day of service that the church did this year and it was awesome! That thing coming together in it of itself was it's on little miracle! As the weeks to it were winding down and we didn't have anything lined up to do I was kinda worried but the leadership of the branch came in clutch and we help them along and it all ended up working super great! We shoveled snow on all the roads at this children's home and I don't know if they just shovel different here but we had like lines of 10 people and we'd all shovel all together all at once like some big ole' snow plow and that was actually super fun!!

We finally found some solid new people to teach!!! I don't know if found is the right word though exactly because they referred themselves online but either way we are excited that we have the opportunity to teach them! We met them in there house which like never happens here so we were a little nervous they were gonna be strange or something because we were going in without having ever met them! BUT THEY'RE AWESOME!! Literally the nicest most humble people I feel like I have met here in Ukraine. Their names are Alexander and Marina. And it's the son and his mom Alexander is 33 and I don't know about the mom. She fed us so much food and we had already had dinner so we were dying! It all was pretty yummy though! Except for whatever she fed us at the end oh my goodness that was not good. It was like Dry Cream Cheese that she poured Sour Cream and sugar on so you can just imagine and then she gave us a whole bag of it to take home ahhhh. It's all good though hahah. It's so hard to eat oh man.

Sunday I bore my testimony and we also had another person just somehow show up to church!!! Which is just a testimony builder to me of all the prayers I know are being said all around the world on behalf of the missionaries and the people around us being prepared for the gospel! Everyone was complimenting me on my Russian saying I spoke without an accent and only made a few mistakes so I was really excited about that! My understanding is also getting super good too!! Which is super exciting.

I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas season and spending lots of time with family and serving others as well!

With love,
