Week 33 I'm having a son!
Hello Hello,
Well first off we'll start with some transfer news.... Elder Pedersen is heading to Kharkov and I am going to be TRAINING! I don't know who my trainee is yet or anything but I'll go and find out on Wednesday! First I want to go over this week a little bit though! This week I wanted to write a little different of an email though! This week I've been thinking a lot about gratitude and the thought that I've heard many times about taking note of our miracles came to mine so I want to share with you some miracles of this week!
After our P-day preparations and what not we were out contacting for 2 hours and after an hour and a half we had talked to some people gave some BofMs out. We came to this corner and stood there for a second and really felt impressed to go one way in particular. There we met this man who has been having a really rough month. We told him the message of the Restoration and that his Father in Heaven loves him so much. Although he wasn't interested in meeting with us he took a Book of Mormon and walked away happy!
Tuesday, the beginning of the day I prayed intently that we would be able to find someone that day and teach them the Restoration the whole day went past and nothing! But at our English practice at the end of the day A daughter and her mother were really interested to learn more about the church and we were able to teach them!!
On wednesday we were giving out a bunch of invitations to our Easter Sacrament meeting and we were going to all of the homes of the Less actives but in Ukraine you have to have a key to get into all of the apartment buildings and the real miracle was that we were able to get into these buildings and give away these invitations! And when we weren't able to that someone around the door said they knew that person and would give them the invitation! It was incredible.
A lady out of nowhere called us who had recieve a book of mormon way long ago.. She wants to meet and learn more about her family history!
Our investigator Vladimir called us one night and told us that he's been really thinking about the Book of Mormon and only has a couple questions left but he finds peace and comfort in reading the Book of Mormon.
The spirit that is with us as we do this the Lord's work
The strength and comfort that he gives us.
Saturday another precious miracle was all of the peace and comfort I felt as I found out that I would be training!
We were able to meet with this lady that made really good friends with Elder Pedersen and his previous companion but we haven't been able to meet with her at all until this week! And we were able to talk and build a relationship there so I can continue to stay in contact with her.
and I'll share one last miracle! I remember when I was back home when I found out I would be serving in Ukraine I spent a bunch of time reading about Ukraine and the people there and I read that, "the people of Ukraine seldom smile, although they are very kind and nice." As I read that I remember telling my Mom something like this, "They're going to think I'm pretty weird then because I'm always gonna walk around smiling at them!" That thought came to mind as we were walking around contacting a lot this week and as we smiled at those we past and wished everyone a good day even if they weren't interested in talking! I'm so happy to be a missionary and I'm grateful for all of the miracles the Lord has sent my way!
In conclusion I just want to share a little thought on gratitude! I know that as we are grateful for those things that the Lord has blessed us with him blesses us with even more! When we take a moment to stop and see all the many ways that the Lord has been influencing us and blessing our lives we will be amazed by what we see! I would encourage you all to be thankful for all the blessings you have! They are they you just have to be humble enough to recognize them!
D&C 78:19
