Week 68: Merry Christmas !!

Merry Christmas everybody!! This past little while a lot has happened that's for sure! I've got even a few extra days to write about even! I'll try to be brief because today is Christmas and I've got some celebrating and thinking of our Savior to do! :)

This week started with an exchange in Kamenskoe with Elder Knowlton. That's probably then 7th time I've done an exchange there because I used to be in a district with Kam when I served on Pobeda so I always think of my past experience in that little city when I'm there! It's a super great place!!

This past week one of my companions Elder Rasmussen finished his mission he came into Dnipro on Tuesday night and we were able to have Wednesday his last full day together in a trio before he flew out so that day we spent a lot of time around all of the departing missionaries! It was sad to see all these missionaries that I know really well go home! It was also a very special experience to think of what I've done on my mission up to this point and to ponder on what I would still like to do and accomplish!!

Right now we are being blessed with many to teach and those we are teaching are progressing well as we inviting them to read and come to church and they are keeping those commitments! Taras is preparing for his baptism of the 4th of January! He's made it to church three times now with the last two weeks coming back to back. He finally changed his schedule so that he could come! And he's gaining a testimony as he reads and ponders deeper!! Dima is also doing super great he too has come the last too weeks in a row and he LOVES church and singing the hymns Haha. We taught him how to read the music and he was sitting by Vitali someone else we are teaching and he started teaching him how to sing them. That was awesome!! He was on date but didn't make it to church. He's been twice now and wants to be baptized when he returns from an upcoming trip to Kiev. But he'll go to church there on his trip.
Vitali we found from English Practice and New Convert Brother Anton is doing a really good job of making a friendship there! It's awesome! He has a small understanding but a desire to learn more and he's already read 30 pages! So he'll progress well!! Lots of good things happening. David and Lyubov have still been sick and we are hoping they will be able to come to church soon so we can have a lesson but they're still planning on being baptized here soon in February! Many blessings!

We had a great Christmas Season so far here in Ukraine! We take with us hats and gloves and candy canes and things whenever we are out contacting and throughout the day we always find someone who can use a little encouragement!! Yesterday I still had two candy canes and a family of 4 came into the tramvai and sat down and we gave the candy canes to the two little kids!! What a blessing it is to be able to give even in simple ways!!

Luke 2:10-11
"For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
