Week 93: Watch out Фейсбук мы придём же

Hey all you friends (amigos/друзья) and family (familia/семья)!

This week the transfer calls came and they пощадили each and every one of us here in the Харьковской Зоне! What a blessing! We are all happy to stay around for at least one more transfer together! That makes 5 ровно!

Обучение Людей Евангелию!
We continued this week to work with Atos who we found on Facebook! We sent him a Book of Mormon and he was really excited to receive it! Me and Elder Trounce taught him on our exchange that we had this week! It was a really great and powerful lesson! I love to teach the message of the Restoration! I would say that my testimony of the Restoration grows every single time I teach that lesson! It went very well! However, afterwards he was sending some messages asking questions about the Book of Mormon in relation to the Bible. He was offended that any other book would even be compared to the Bible and refused to read it. We pray and hope that his heart will soften and he'll begin to read and see the countless truths that have been restored through the sacred text! We hope to still work with him and help him overcome this initial challenge. He is a great brother with great faith in Christ!

This week we found a new person who we've now began teaching! We will have our second lesson with him today! His name is Vladim. He is injured right now and is in the hospital. We are still trying to determine how we might be able to get him a Book of Mormon but we are still not completely sure. We found him as we were contacting past missionary contacts. He was interested to know more in light of the fact that right now he has very little to do as he is only able to stay in his hospital bed. Our first lesson was interrupted when another patient was brought into his room along with many doctors and nurses and so we will finish it today! He first met with missionaries in the 90s and wasn't able to understand them very well at the time to understand what they were teaching him but he's happy to meet and we hope the message will touch his heart! He's a very kind brother

We had a few lessons with members this week! They went really well! One of these lessons was with Vitya and his grandmother Tamara! I have grown to love the members here so much! It's a blessing to have these lessons with them! To see how we uplift and learn from one another! As we have these moments I feel that we along with them are learning how the Savior would have us minister to one another. I love to take a moment to consider the wonderful work we are apart of to help our brothers and sisters remember often our Heavenly Father and to gather them all in to the fold!

Another lesson this week we had was with Dima. We started the Melchezidek Priesthood lessons with him! He is really ready to receive the Priesthood. We have not done all the lessons yet and in fact just completed the first one but he has put forth a lot of effort to study and learn and prepare himself. He taught us a lot! He spoke of his gratitude to be counted as one worthy to hold the Priesthood. The lessons so far have been really good for me as well to continue to ponder and understand deeper the Priesthood. We have been working closely with the branch to do these lessons and have talked with the Branch President and Elders Quorum President. President Kalashnik was with us on the lesson and it went really well! Dima is looking forward in excitement to his mission. He has his papers now and will be working more on them.

We've been working with Maksim a lot and trying to meet with him and help get him back in touch with the members. It's a difficult time for him. The pandemic has been a real challenge for him. His family has been stuck back in Donestk and he misses them. Overall I think we can be a big help by keeping in touch with him.

This week many were not able to meet but we hope to schedule lessons with them this week and to continue teaching them!

I had an exchange with my Возлюбленный Сын Elder Trounce! He is a genius! If you've never read his emails you're missing out! They're masterpieces. Beyond that he's an awesome missionary!!

Квартира
We are supposed to clean out this old couples apartment and it's gonna be an adventure. We need to arrange to собрать and old шкаф from the bathroom. I'll send a picture! Wish us удачи!

Facebook
I still have not conquered Facebook but I think we are on our way. I feel like we are a couple of newbies. But honestly that could be an advantage Haha! We had some people we talked with through Facebook this week! Super cool!! Also the first or second person I ever taught (don't  remember chronologically) is being taught again by missionaries right now and he sent me some messages on Messenger!!! Wow so cool! I'm gonna try and find more investigators to connect with them!

Духовная мысль
This week's spiritual thought is a story with an invitation!!

I would like to start off by talking about a couple miracles that have taken place this week and that have taken place earlier in this time on quarantine! Yesterday we were walking home having just finished administering the sacrament to the Sisters. We had about 100 meters left till our door to our apartment and about 150 meters up in front of us a man is walking on a street perpendicular to ours. He turned his head and saw that we were walking and recognized us as missionaries. He stopped his course and walked through the street and greeted us! His name is Victor and he was on his way to church! I'm not sure where he is from. We didn't have time to ask but he asked if we could switch numbers and talk more together about Jesus Christ! Then not just about 20 minutes ago in the moment I am writing we ran into Franklin on the street, a returning member who we are working with! I saw the hand of the Lord in these meetings. We aren't able to contact as we would usually, or meet with members but Heavenly Father has even better plans for us and brought us or others to the place where we could meet one another. I was pondering the power of such blessings and realized that miracles have the biggest impact in our lives and the lives of others when we 1. Recognize them and 2. Accept them with thankfulness. Things like this may have happened in the past, and I may have not turned much attention to them. If so I most definitely lost a marvelous opportunity to marvel at the love of God and the greatness of his paths!

Take time to
1. Recognize the miracles happening in your life right now!
2. Accept them with Thankfulness!!
