Week 94: From one apartment to the next

This week we had a lot of lessons fall through which is of course tough! It's sad too see people not progress very well because they can't make lessons or fulfill other commitments. Hopefully this coming week will be filled with a little bit more success in that regard!

The Hongs' Apartment
Soooo we were tasked with cleaning out the senior couple's apartment and we have now finished! We did it in a bunch of trips and we got super sweaty toting home the long bathroom cabinet but we got it all done. I think my arms are still sore haha! We now have an apartment filled with things that we don't have space for so it's a little cluttered but that's what we have P-days for. In no time it'll be spotless here once again!

People
We began teaching someone new this week! His name is Wahid! He first met missionaries a little under a year ago. He actually even did a lesson with Elder Rodgerson! So it was cool that we have this opportunity to begin teaching him once again. His friend saw his Book of Mormon he had received and asked if he could take it and read it and his friend eventually took the book with him out of Ukraine. So he had been able to read some. But English isn't his best language so we were excited to help him download the app! He has a desire to learn more and he asked really great questions and we very simply and powerfully taught this lesson! It went very well!

on Monday we had a lesson with Peter! It went really well. We felt that we needed to talk a little bit more with him about the Book of Mormon and why it is significant. We did so and extended a powerful invitation and agreed on a meeting where we would be able to give him his own copy of the Book. It was cool to see him in person even for just 1 minute. It's crazy to think we can do all of our teaching and finding online and it can be a time before we even meet in person. This is a special work we are apart of! It just keeps going forward!

We had our second Melchezidek Priesthood lesson with Dima this week. President Kalashnik was once again present. Dima has really become a big part of the branch and he about knows everyone now. President Kalashnik talked that they will most likely go forward with his receiving the Melchezidek Priesthood before District Conference as he is really ready for it. Dima was really excited about that prospect. We will have the 3rd and final lesson this Saturday and Dima will talk with the branch President and set up an interview! Really exciting.

We had a good lesson with Vladim on Monday at 5 pm before our mission call at 6 pm and this lesson we talked about the last part of the Restoration as we were not able to finish the whole lesson the previous time. It has been a little challenging to teach him because his phone doesn't have the greatest connection and he is a little hard of hearing but we are doing the best we can! And it works out!

I low key spaced that this next week will be the 4th of July so that's cool!!!
Also make sure that you all tell my little sister Kennady happy birthday on Wednesday!! She deserves the best day ever

Spiritual Thought
Elder John H. Vandenberg: "We all love that for which we sacrifice. Giving and serving to the point of sacrifice creates love."

"It is our right and responsibility to accept our gifts and to share them."
Elder Marvin J. Ashton

When we are impatient, we are neither reverential nor reflective because we are too self-centered. Whereas faith and patience are companions, so are selfishness and impatience. It is so easy to be confrontive without being informative; so easy to be indignant without being intelligent; so easy to be impulsive without being insightful. It is so easy to command others when we are not in control of ourselves.
-Neal A Maxwell (Patience)

I wanted to just include some quotes from different talks that I've studied in the past little while!! Heavenly Father is ready to help and lift us with what we need most. Often times he wants us to seek and ask in the first place. Those initial actions show our willingness and faith and allow him to work miracles!! We all can move bravely forward to conquer our trials by faithfully seeking to know what the Father wants us to learn and do!

Love you all so much!! Have a wonderful week!
