Week 100: And that's all she wrote

Image
Wow I can't believe I'm already writing my last one of these. Before I start I want to thank everyone collectively who has been so helpful in helping me serve and complete a mission! Your love and support means everything to me! I've always enjoyed writing these letters as they allow me to reflect on the work that I have done each week and the way the Lord has magnified those efforts. Many wonderful things happened this week, we saw many miracles for which we are deeply grateful. It's been a blessing this week to reflect upon the work that we have been able to accomplish with Elder Wilson as we have been serving together! Much has taken place! I'm pleased to see that the Kharkiv zone remains strong and healthy and there is a great work here that remains to take place. This week we found a returning member by the name of Michael. He has been in a village for the past half year and has been out of contact completely with the members of the branch. He retu

Week 99: The sun is setting

Hey everyone!! My beloved friends and family!! The week I wanted to share something right away that has been really exciting this week! The past week I didn't write about this but we got in touch with a member of the church named Martin from Zimbabwe. He is awesome! We had a lesson this week and our goal going in was really just to see what we can do to help him progress and come close to Christ at this time. We talked about church and the sacrament and that was awesome!! He really wants to come back to church and was grateful that we had been able to get in contact with him. He bore a powerful testimony and told us about his family and how they were baptized some years ago back home.  We later felt impressed to invite Martin on a lesson with Samuel who we have been teaching. This lesson went so well Martin contributed wonderfully and bore his testimony. Samuel has began to read the Book of Mormon a little more to prepare for his baptism. We challenged him to read and

Week 98: I is for Brother Igor!!

Image
Hey everyone!! There were many miracles this week and the Lord's work moved forward in marvelous and miraculous ways. A highlight of this week was to see our brother Igor join the Lord's fold by entering into the waters of baptism! He had a long path that led him to this day- a very unique story. It was powerful to see the peace and joy that came over him as he was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost! Our branch President, President Mikhailovski was able to perform his baptism. Then the Elders Quorum President gave him the gift of the Holy Ghost. It was a miracle that we were able to take part in this event and see it all come together! It is always and always has been uplifting and deeply spiritual to see a brother or sister make this life changing decision and step foot on their path of becoming disciples of Jesus Christ.  The Brothers ;)  We taught lessons this week to some of the members. We've been trying to help Maksim who is a recent convert, he

Week 97: Igor's ready!

Image
Hello everyone!! This has been a really eventful and productive week! The biggest part of it I would say has been our teaching of Igor. I've grown to love this brother deeply! We quickly went through all the lessons. Most things he already remembered but there were a lot of other things that we were able to remind him and help him with and that was really good. Things like the Priesthood and the Sacrament. I felt that the spirit was a big help when we prayed to know what we should focus on as we worked with him. There were small and simple promptings that came that we then followed and felt good about. It's amazing to me to see the peace that he feels as he prepares for his baptism. He's very grateful for the work and things we have been doing to help him prepare for his baptism and also get his baptismal service ready and planned. He will be baptized this Saturday. We have been able to talk about everything with the branch leaders and we should have a great baptismal

Family! Friends! Hello!! Its Elder Halls haha Street Meet  Sooooo we have permission to give people Books of Mormon and see, briefly people on the street. We still don't sit down with anybody and teach lessons but понятно anyway this week we had a few times we met with people on the street! We met with Dima, Ahmed, and Mohammed. Dima has been giving out copies of the Book of Mormon left and right and so we gave him a few more! The others are people we are teaching right now! I'll send some pictures!  Zone Conference  We had Zone Conference and we definitely have the greatest zone in existence wow I love these missionaries! And we also had mission conference and we have the greatest mission ever too! And I mean it wow! So there you have it! Greatest mission haha Проповедуе

Week 95: Land of the Free, Home of the Brave

This week has been really great. I've learned so many great things! As normally is the case those great and important lessons have come through having some different and unique challenges. Daily Bread  During this week I watched a few videos from Elder D Todd Christofferson in which he talks about the children of Israel and Manna as well as receiving our daily bread! He shares many personal experiences from his life and these videos really impressed me! As he said sometimes in our trials we want an immediate miracle or we want to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But often times the Lord gives us what we need for that day, our daily bread. And as that has kind of been the case from hour to hour, I've felt how Heavenly Father is near and is blessing me!  The People This week we were able to find a few new people to teach, one of which I'm really excited about! His name is Samuel. He was a referral that we received from the English/spiritual thought ad abou
