Week 81: Press Forward!

Image
Hello family and friends! I'm glad to have the opportunity to write to you all each week and tell you a little bit about the Lord's work out in the Eastern Ukraine part of the Vineyard. This week we kept ourselves busy calling contacts and members and a few other things as well so I guess I'll just jump right in and tell you about it! Calls So on my phone there are about 800 contacts not to mention all the other contacts that are in the Area Book. But some of these contacts are from months and even years ago. Before we even had smartphones so who knows how long they have been contacts and I've made it my task to call everyone. Usually we set some time to get working through our contacts and right now I have called at least one time about half! So it's been going good. We've been able to set up some lessons from that actually which has been really cool! None of those people are quite progressing yet but it's been successful so we'll continue. W

Week 80: Apartment-based missionaries

Hello everyone!! Family and friends! Get ready for a rollercoaster!! Haha Sneak Peek  Sooo we are currently in self-imposed quarantine... which means that we stay in our apartment and we go out once a day for a little fresh air and we stay away from people. I'll explain more a little later!  Family Night On mondays we have an activity in the branch I've talked about! It always goes super well and we have such a great spiritual thought that really helps us to all feel the spirit together and I always enjoy it! This last week our Sisters came as well, which is usually the case but this time they brought tons of food and then left us all of the cookies and candies to eat with the 5 of us that remained. Needless to say we ate way too much sugar yikes... all is well though now.  Zone Conference  The beginning of this week was super normal and usual! We had Zone Conference which was actually so amazing I can't even tell you!! It was different than other conf

Week 79: Buckle Up!

Alright Buckle Up! This week was really cool! There were so many great moments and I learned so many cool things. I'll jump right into it! Family Night We have a family night activity that we do every monday and it's really good for our recent converts and investigators to all meet and strengthen their faith and friendships with each other and it seems to be super effective!! As a side note we had 4 Dima's there and 1 Valeri. Everytime I meet another Dima I always have to laugh haha. We love our Dimas! Prior to family night we did a little bit of P-day shopping which was a big success for sure so we can't complain. Sumy We had an exchange this week in Sumy and I was with Elder Hamzawi again!! Sumy is the furthest north city in our mission where there are missionaries. And there they speak a crazy mix of Russian and Ukrainian. It's absolutely awesome just one word Ukrainian the next Russian you never know what to expect. Everyone's mix has a littl

Week 78: Great Happens

Hello family!! Иными словами привет семья!!  This was a really great week! Things are going good here in Kharkiv and we still have many things to work on to build the kingdom and that keeps us busy so we can't complain.  MLC MLC was really great! All of our meetings as missionaries are so inspiring and inspired I feel that there is always a great spiritual boost and many important reminders that help me to continue to do my very best!  It's also super fun to see all the other missionaries and old companions and what not! Elder Stosich is a Zone Leader in the South Zone right now and it's always cool to see him there. It's about a 3 hour drive from Kharkiv to Dnipro and therefore it is the perfect pondering studying time as we are traveling and I always feel like I learn so much. This time I read a bunch of chapters in the 2nd volume of Saints! It's super great! It's even cooler in Russian so maybe give it a try ;) haha День Открытых Дверей (t
