Week 55: Welcome to the Vineyard
Another week is in the books here in Dnipro, Ukraine! It's been a really great week. The first week of the transfer has already come and gone
First week
The first week of the transfer is always pretty hectic because there are many meetings for all of the new leaders/trainers/missionaries and it's also the week that we have MLC so basically all in all there was a whole lot going on this week. Sometimes it kinda feels like we are staring out of the window just missing being out there on the streets. In despite of those feelings and the lack of us on the streets of Dnipro this week we got work DONE! Lots happened this week!
Missions are Forever
We had 6 missionaries end their missions at the beginning of this week and one of them was headed home to a different part of the world. So while everyone else had a early flight tuesday morning he had about a 1 o'clock flight in the afternoon. His only desire was to spend the whole morning contacting. So we left the house at 8 in the morning at contacted with him until the last moment. It was impressive to see! What an awesome missionary! It was super meaningful to me to see that.
New Missionaries
We just had 11 new missionaries join us here in Ukraine and there are another 20 or so coming here in the next two transfers so we have a pretty young mission! Which is actually super cool! The perfect time to help all of these missionaries have good starts and make really good habits.
Lessons
This week we were of course busy but we had really great lessons in some of the moments when we were cramming in all of the work we needed to get done in our area. We met with Nikoai and had a really powerful lesson he is seeing the light and clarity that the Gospel brings into our lives and he is loving it! It's amazing to see him grow he is working towards baptism! on date for the 19th
We also had 2 lessons with the family we are teaching Aleksei and Veronika they're incredible! They're really beginning to understand why this is all so important and get a good hold on the gospel.
This man Misha out of nowhere called us and asked to meet. He's been looking for the gospel and something to help him change his life and felt like he's found it here! He's also on baptismal date for the 19th
We also met with some returning members and talked with them about the blessings of the gospel and living. We as a mission right now are really trying to help the members work towards receiving the Melchizedek priesthood so we have been meeting with a lot of potential Elders and did a lot of that this week as well!
Sunday!
We had 6 people we are teaching come to church!! It was an absolute miracle! Veronika came with one of her daughters. Aleksei didn't make it he was absolutely exhausted from carry the other two kids around all day the day before. But Veronika loved church and was just bouncing off the walls! The family is doing really well in general. We had Nikolai come as well (A different not on baptismal date one). And also a family of 4 that just showed up out of nowhere!! They really liked church and we are starting to teach them now!!
Overall everything is going really great right now in our area! we are working really hard and seeing many miracles and how the Lord is blessing us! I see how I am growing and learning and how the Lord is helping me become a better and better missionary. and person just in general hah!
Spiritual Thought
2 Nephi 12:2-3
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, awhen the bmountain of the Lord’s chouse shall be established in the top of the dmountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it.
What an incredible blessing it is in our day that the truth has been restored to the earth. That we again have Prophets who hold the power and authority to lead and guide this church! What a blessing to have temples. Where was can receive the blessings that the fullness of the Gospel entails. What an incredible blessing it is to have the knowledge that we are on the right path, and that we can live as eternal families!!! I'm so grateful for the Gospel and for my Savior Jesus Christ. I know this is His church.
Love you all!
Good Luck!
